Welcome to First Grade

We are looking forward to having you in our class. We will learn to read, add, subtract, and experience many more fun adventures during the year. Be sure to READ! Write down the books you read so you can get an award in the fall. See you soon! Love The First Grade Team 

Suggested SUPPLY LIST:

NOTICE:  "We welcome any and all donations on behalf of our students. The items on this list will be used during the regular school day for instructional and non-instructional purposes. They may be brought from home on a voluntary donation basis; otherwise, they will be furnished by the school. Cash donations are also accepted to help fund field trips, other educational activities or to purchase instructional resources for our students. Cash donations in any amount under $250 may be accepted at the school office. Donations over $250 need to go through the Weber School foundation indicating Hooper Elementary as the benefiting school."  

Hooper Elementary will provide basic supplies such as: pencils, crayons and glue.

Suggested Instructional Items:

  1. Pencil Box  5” x  8” (No Charlesworth)
  2. Pink bar eraser (any color is okay)
  3. 2 BIG glue sticks (extra are always appreciated)
  4. A backpack or book bag
  5. Earbuds or Headphones (cheap/dollar store is fine)
  6. Thin Dry Erase markers- not fat (extra are always appreciated)
  7. 2 reams of white copy paper

Suggested Non-instructional Items:

  • Kleenex 
  • Band aids
  • Hand Sanitizer (please no individual size)
  • We can always use Ticonderoga pencils. 

Please DO NOT send: Pencil sharpeners, scissors, markers, pens, toys, or any other school supplies not listed above.

Additional Information:

  1. Students in 1st grade, not riding the bus, will be picked up at the east side pick-up area. Teachers will stand by the fence with them until parents or siblings pick them up. Students riding the bus can meet siblings on the bus. Teachers will walk students to the bus.  Thanks!
  2. Be sure to read and practice Math!! Keep track of the books you read and your math time so you can get the Superintendent Reading and Math Award in the fall!
  3. Back-to-School Night Monday, August 22nd 5:00-7:00pm.
