Hello Third Grader!
Welcome to the Third Grade! We are so excited to meet you. Third Grade is going to be an exciting year. We will be learning cursive, multiplication, and division! In history, we learn about Native American people, and in science we explore forces and weather! We tentatively plan to go on several amazing field trips including The Clark Planetarium, The Ogden Nature Center, The Eccles Dinosaur Park, and Hill Aerospace Museum.
You can prepare yourself for the new year in a few ways. First, please earn your Superintendent Reading Award. Just read 10-30 books or 1,000-3,000 pages over the summer. Keep track of your paper and turn it in at the beginning of the year. There is also a Math Superintendent Award you can earn. Last, enclosed is a supply list for our year together. You can bring items to Back-to-School Night on Monday August 23rd from 5:30-7:30.

We welcome any and all donations on behalf of our students. The items on this list will be used during the regular school day for instruction and non-instructional purposes. They may be brought from home on a voluntary donation basis; otherwise, they will be furnished by the school. Cash donations are also accepted to help fund field trips, other educational activities or to purchase instructional resources for our students. Cash donations in any amount under $250 may be accepted at the school office. Donations over $250 need to go through the Weber School Foundation indicating Hooper Elementary as the benefitting school. Hooper Elementary will provide basic supplies such as pencils, crayons, erasers, and glue sticks. These are suggested supplies for third grade. . .
