Community Council

September 30, 2020

  • Welcome by Ashley

 

  • Kari requested that we each watch the Trust Land Video because there were changes for this year.

 

  • Funding for this year - Trust Lands $83,915 and TSSA $78,658.  See school website for distribution of these funds.

 

  • Covid Report to date - no teacher to teacher spread, 4+ parents have tested positive, no student to student spread.

 

  • Need a new Art Teacher (Mrs. Webb got a full time position in the district).  Hope to have teacher in October sometime.

 

  • Mrs. LaMar has tongue cancer and required surgery.  Went well but long recovery.

 

  • Raymi Yarman had a heart attack and family needs assistance.

 

  • New furniture was delivered.  Old furniture cannot be sold by Hooper School, per district orders.  Instead will be stored in warehouse and sold at district sale next year.

 

  • Chrome books are slow being shipped and delivered.  Expect to be fully one-to-one by December.

 

  • Great need for substitutes in the district.  Encourage anyone you know to sign up!

 

  • Robotics club was fought for and will get to happen for 5th and 6th graders - while observing safe Covid practices.

 

  • Halloween Parade: Community Council supported doing plan B (parents watch outside the fence) with plan A (just students, no parents) being the second choice.

 

  • Cindy and Ashley need to apply to be on Community Council again.  Applications for all who want to apply will be in the office.  Election will be held mid- to late October.

 

  • Dismissed.  Next meeting November 4, 2020
